Wiring help, MSD 6AL and MSD dizzy

ok guys, Im trying to figure out how to wire the small red wire coming from the msd box? do I hook it into the key side or just wire it hot when the key is in the run mode and the crank mode? I see a bunch of wires coming from the key and have no clue but one to where they go. (I run a ford starter solonoid and I have the wire that use to go on the starter solonoid from the old starter going to the small front terminal on the f--d noid. An wiring diagrams you guys can hook me up with?? this sux

SInce you have a '68, it will be easy as the ign switch should have ign voltage in both positions of START nad IGN.

OE configuration has a cloth-covered wire for the original point set dist. You can tie the MSD thin red wire to this cloth-covered wire, OR, insulate and tie back the wire and run another 12-14 AWG from the IGN spade on the fuse panel to the MSD red wire.

The MSD red wire is a turn-on/off signal for the box.

Thank you Everett, The wire going to the HEI is a covered white wire, is this one I can re-use?? Its the 12 volt going in, but people say its a low voltage wire. I guess Ill tie it into the fuse panal.

It's a resistive wire, a voltage divider circuit reducing the supplied battery voltage to the primary winding of an ignition coil to prevent the coil from overheating and also to prevent burning up the contact s of the point set. The wire gives off heat as currrent flows through it reducing the supplied voltage.

You would probably be better served wiring from the IGN spade on the fuse panel.
