Wiper motor problems

I am working on getting my wipers working on my 70 RS after 25 years. I got the motor to run in both speeds and the pump to work. the problem I am havin it will not stop when I turn the switch off. If I unplug the connector off the switch they go to the home position and stay until I plug it in again. Sounds to me its the switch. Any other suggestions? Also how do you get the shaft out ofthe light switch. the knob comes with a new shaft on it and I have no idea how it comes apart. Any suggestions

Re: wiper motor problems

No help on the wipers.

To get the knob out of the headlight switch - feel around on the switch behind the dash and you'll find a small spring-loaded button. Pull the knob all of the way out(headlights on), then press on that little button and pull the shaft out of the switch.

Re: wiper motor problems

Mike, the motor base plate needs to be grounded for the park circuit to work. Usually a brass tab that goes under the top most grommet. This is for a 69, hope 70 is the same!
