Backup Switch Location on Muncie 4 speed

Can anyone tell me the location of the backup switch on a 69 Camaro Muncie 4 speed with Hurst floor shift. Can't find anything in the AIM's manual or under search this forum.

Re: Backup Switch Location on Muncie 4 speed

Back up switch is on the steering column connected to a rod from the reverse lever on transmission.

Jim, here's the switch location just like Dan & Stevie said. It's operated with some linkage you may be missing.

What if the Muncie was added later ?
and you dont have the linkage going to the column.
Is there another way to actuate reverse lights ?

Yes, you can put a switch on the trans that is operated by the linkage when you shift into reverse. Then you just wire that into the backup light circuit. I think I got one several years back from Hurst. This is what it looks like: http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-4...1967-1969.html

68 RS Coupe 355/350 TH, Detroit Speed, Hotchkis, Vintage Air, 8.5" 3.42 posi 10-bolt, MagnaFlow 2 1/2" exhaust, etc.

Re: Backup Switch Location on Muncie 4 speed

I am missing the linkage rod from tran to lower lever of steering column rod. I had to tie down the upper column lever to release the key lock because of that. We know this is a transmission conversion. So it sounds like my best option is the transmission switch that Larry mentioned.
Will check into it.
