Tony, im sure you can wire up the camaro yourself inside of the round trip travel time. it is fairly simple. you can save time and money doing it yoursellf as these kits are user friendly

I agree on doing it yourself. Just need a good set of crimpers and you're pretty much good to go with those kits. I would recommend you go to the tech support/wiring kit instructions and search for your kit #500686. Then download the various diagrams to have a look at how well it's documented step by step. If you have a bare shell already running the wires would be a snap. You also gain a healthy knowledge of your electrical system for future potential problems.

I dont think we have answered your question. Most members are probably installing the kit themselves and are speaking from experiance when they say its not very difficult. That being said, it will depend on your skill level and attention to detail(crimping, routing, ect). I'm sure somebody will chime in that has paid a shop to do thiers. I am in the middle of installing the same kit and if you choose to do it yourself, take Aarons advice and get the correct crimpers. Also, dont forget to pick up a couple rolls of the non-adhesive electrical tape.

Tony- What is the plan for your car? Is it Pro-Touring with everything updated, is it back to original throughout, or somewhere inbetween? If original, purchase the original wiring design and you will simply plug everything in, no crimping required. Each socket is unique and will only plug into the one part it is designed to power.

At this point, if it is a bare shell, there isn't much more to do than to lay the wiring in the right places. When something is installed you plug it in

X2 on what Andrew wrote.....wiring harness selection depends on the build type....if you're going back to stock......AAW's Factory Fit line of wiring harnesses are what you need.....Pro Touring or Resto-Mod.....AAW's Classic Update wiring harnesses are what you'll need and they'll require some crimping of connectors whereas the Factory Fit harness is "plug & play" as Andrew stated earlier.

Prodigy Customs (http://prodigycustoms.com/) is in the Orlando Florida area, about 7 hrs away from you. They can do the job for you with their eyes closed. Give Frank a call and see what he says. He is often on here helping out and is a sponsor of Team Camaro as well.
