The amp drop probably means you have a wiring issue. Are you running the fans off a relay? You should have a relay that has power coming directly from your horn relay bus or similar. What does your alternator look like and what other aftermarket accessories? Are you still running the stock alt or has it been changed? A picture might help folks figure out what you have.
