Neutral saftey switch for console

I ordered a neutral saftey switch for my console shifter, it looks like I got the wrong one, it looks like it should be on the column.

Can you see any diffrence between them?

The old neutral saftey switch was located on the column, the car was original a inline 6 car.

Re: Neutral saftey switch for consol

Yes, they are different. A column mounted switch has right angle brackets to bolt the switch to the top of the column.

The console shifter mounted switch has flat mounting brackets.
You might be able to exchange it for a console switch.

Re: Neutral saftey switch for console

Found a neutral saftey switch for console in the garage, didnt mount it on my Chevelle 1970 last year.
When you have the correct parts its much easier it worked on the first try.

This is for the console:

This is for the column:

The column has different mounting.
