Fuel Gauge

Just finished 68 camaro restoration put in new wiring harness american auto wire having trouble with fuel gauge not working and keep blowing fuses on that circuit. testing gauge show that all connecting point on fuel gauge are common to each other and also to the metal case is the gauge bad?

The gauge could be bad, but more likely something is shorted around the gauge. Do you have a meter with an ohms setting? Check across the gauge, it should be >10 ohms. If it reads zero (on the lowest setting) then take the gauge out and measure again. If still zero the gauge is shorted. If not, the printed circuit is (somewhere).

Also may try unplugging the console harness and see if the fuse still blows. If it does, it is something upstream of the plug.

I did find a couple flaws with my complete wiring set from AAW. It happens...

i checke the ohms across the gauge and it reads 45ohms is that to high

I get 44.6 with the harness unplugged and the Low Fuel Module attached.
