Re: Proform Starter 66268/ DB Electric NG

My DB starter has been working well for a month and a half now. Good month and a half. The Proform looks exactly like the DB starter - and probably just like the DB - made by the C&H Ina Co.

I've heard DB has good cust service - you might give them another shot and just hope you got a dud. (secretly hoping that I didn't!)

Thanks Al. The starter never really sounded right from day one. It may of needed a shim. I took some advice on this forum and did not use the shim. I think the old saying still holds true "You Get What You Pay For" Did you use a shim ??

Re: Proform Starter 66268/ DB Electric NG

I changed my mind with the Proform. It does look identical to the DB starter. I went with the Powermaster 9200 which still looks like the DB and Proform starters with slight differences. I hope I made a better choice. We will see.

Re: Proform Starter 66268/ DB Electric NG

Well, Donny, I had much better luck with my DB starter. If I had to guess, I'd say I got at least 100 trouble free starts out of this bad boy. Then it made a funny noise.

Fortunately it happened in my garage, and also fortunately I had a CVR starter sitting on the shelf....
