my 67 tries to start itself

what happened was i drove my 67 camaro 350 4 speed back home after a drive and parked it for 4 days because the weather was bad. When i tried to start it nothing happened, so i tried to jump it and that didn't work. I tested the battery and it reads 0.1 So i charged it with a pro battery charger. The battery tests 12.6 but when i try and connect the battery cables back on the battery the engine tries to start. I think i probably need a new ignition switch but i don't want to go through unnecessary effort if i'm just way off. I would appreciate any input, i haven't been working on cars for awhile now because i just got out of the Marines so please talk to me like i'm dumb. THANKS!

Re: my 67 tries to start itself

Check the connections on the starter and make sure they are not touching each other or ground.
