67 rs headlight doors with light amplifer relays
Hi serious electrical gurus!
I have a problem concerning the 67 headlamp door system.
I have previously installed two relays to run the hi and low beams directly from the battery. The original in dash light switch only has to power these relays when the light are on. The idea is to ease the current flow through the original light switch and have brighter headlights by allowing them to get juice directly from the main feed.
Headlights worked light a charm, (I had to manually open the headlight doors since there was no motors/relays/wiring for the electrical door system), until I installed new RS motors and relays and the complete wiring.
Now with the relays in place I can get the lights on and doors open. BUT they wont close with the relays in place no matter what. If I jump the relays (let the original wiring feed the headlamps directly) the doors and lights works like they should.
What's causing this? Do I need to add another diode before the relay "trigger feed" if I want to run the amplifiers with the complete RS door system??
BTW I got the Retro Electro motors years a go and only had time to install them now. Mean motors, the doors fly open and close!!
