Mallory promaster coil

One of the terminals on our coil had vibrated loose and we could not grab the screw to try and tighten it up. We ended up splitting the coil case to get to the terminal screw to tighten it up. When we did this we lost some of the oil. What type of oil is used in the coil and where can i get it?

Thanks.

Believe it or not, transformer oil.
Might ask your local electric provider or an older TV repair shop.

Thank you, I was thinking that might be what it was but wasn't sure.

Re: Mallory promaster coil

I had the terminal of my Mallory coil spin loose. I dissembled the coil, storing the Oil in a glass, and tightened the post then reassembled the coil - They are made to be serviced

Be aware that transformer Oil may contain PCB's so handle accordingly.
