69 sb 327 use 4 awg or 2 awg gauge battery wires

Did the 69 sb 327 originaly use 4 awg or 2 awg gauge battery wires. I replaced my old cables with 4awg wires and want to make sure they are big enough.

Four AWG is OE design, but going bigger gauge never hurts.
Most on-the-rack replacemnts I go for are the 1 AWG.
