Unhappy Open Coil HELP!!

Hello TC!
I have had an intermident problem with my coil. I have been noticing over the last few months that when I turn my iginition key from lock to the on position before starting the engine it seemed to bump my motor. I traced it to when I turn the ingiation key to the on position it fires the coil once (single spark)?

Now also intermidently when I turn the key from the lock position to the on postion the coil stays open and continues to spark as if the engine was running? Just like an are welder?

My car is a 68 camaro with a accel lazer II CDI box, accel super coil and accel dual point dist. The car has run fine for years and all this just started over the last few months. First with the single bumps and now both single and full on multiple sparks?

Could it be the ingintion switch is shorting internally some how? I pulled out the tumber to clean with some terminal cleaner and the darn pin used to released the lock came out with it. Now I am afraid to put it back together thinking it will never unlock again and get stuck. Now I will be forced to by a new ingition switch and tumber setup from Ricks.

I checked all my connections and grounds and all are good and charging at 14.2 volts when started. What do you think it could be that would cause the coil to fire sometimes once or just stick open and spark cazily?? Help!!
