Footwell lights??? AAW kit, can't figure this out?

The AAW kit is AWESOME first of all. We're just about done with it however I cannot recall if my car ever had footwell lighting or if it did where the lights are supposed to mount?

I have them all wired up and can't figure out where they go or if my car ever even originally had them.

68 base coupe, deluxe interior, 327/glide, 2.73 open, P/B, P/S..no power windows/locks if it helps/makes a difference?

Thank you for any help,

Donnie

On a '69 they go just under the corner of the dash above each kick panel. If your car did not have them you're likely missing the brackets.

Re: Footwell lights??? AAW kit, can't figure this out?

Steiner,

Thank you so much man.

They just mount to the lower dash itself (below the vent/above the corner of the kick panel) through an existing screw hole then I assume?

Donnie

PS..you're a tremendous help Steiner, I truly appreciate it

Re: Footwell lights??? AAW kit, can't figure this out?

Hey you bet. If someone doesn't beat me to it I'll take a pic of them in my car in the morning and post it. I imagine the location on a '68 is the same as a '69 since all three years use the same bracket.

How about a blury bulb? I'd get a better shot but then Steiner might beat me. At least the bulb is the original.

Fred, you're too competitive. What'd you do to get the bulb to last so long, Dukes of Hazzard the doors? The General Lee was the same color as yours....hmmm....
By the way, have you taken a look at the new Retrotek forum? There's a few guys on there having a helluva time with PJ-1 units you may be able to help.

Here's some pics. The screw just screws through the panel and into the bracket.

No sweat Don. It's what we're paid to do.

Steiner,,,,, Na,,,, you won't believe me. But it's true. They don't make light bulbs like they used to. China?
Here's the list.
These burned out since the car was new.

Drivers side inner taillight bulb.
R/F side marker bulb.
One console bulb.
Engine compartment bulb(s)

These were replaced for utility reasons:

Headlights swapped for Halogen.
Dome light for a reading light fixture.
AM radio replaced with Alpine stuff. But the 8 track still works along with its bulbs

There ya have it. All others are original, work fine and haven't been removed from their fixtures. And this car isn't a garage queen unless it's raining.

Steiner, thanks for the Retrotek link. I'll jet over this morning before laptop-tuning. Not to help them, but to get help!
