Lost wire that needs a home

While trying to figure out why my gen light is always on I came across this

http://www.hotrodders.com/gallery/sh...cat/500/page/1

The wire appears to be brown in color and has a slip type connection. I cant seem to locate where it should go.

If anyone knows let me know. a pic would be helpful Car is a 69

THANKS

Re: Lost wire that needs a home

That looks more like the key buzzer wire that plugs onto the horn relay. Try cleaning a little spot and see if it starts to turn pink with a black line.

Re: Lost wire that needs a home

Shane,
If it is not part of the Voltage Regulator harness it would most likely be not related to your GEN light issue but maybe some accessory item that used to feed from the Horn Relay. Brown wire? maybe it is the drivers side running light connection? How far back can you trace the wire? Pink is the key minder buzzer on the horn relay

Re: Lost wire that needs a home

It plugs into that horn relay on the right side, at the back.

Re: Lost wire that needs a home

Upon closer inspection and cleaning, the wire does appear to be red or pink with a black stripe

Yep, it was the key buzzer. Plugged it in and found out why the PO had unplugged it.

THANKS GUYS, looks like i need to replace the fusible link on the red wire to the VR. Wire covering is fried.
