67 Console Temperature Gauge

Does anyone know how to test one of these gauges to see if it works? I restored my car about 7 years ago and replaced all of the gauges. It already had gauges, and the temp gauge worked great for 7 years, now quit. I bought a new one at Classic, and can't get that to work either. There is power at the plug that goes into the gauge. Frustrating! Maybe I got another bad guage? Not sure how to test it...I have it out of the car on the bench now. Thanks...

Re: 67 Console Temperature Gauge

Maybe there was nothing wrong with your other gauge either but the engine block temp sender has gone nips up.

You can bench test the sender with a pot of boiling water or test it in the block using your ohms meter. Everett has posted the ohms at various temp pointed many times. A search should produce the bench testing guide.
