More LED info

I made a discovery today on the license plate bulb selection. Originally I used a 9LED 100 degree angle bulb in there and had, not so good results. It only lit up about 1/2 of the plate. I thought that anything bigger would not fit. WRONG! I just got done putting in a 18 tower high power 360 degree bulb in there,it fit right in, and it looks GREAT! It even lights up the ground under the car, which I think looks really cool.

Currently I'm working on adding dual under hood lights with a switch so they can be shut off if the hood is up during the day. And I'm doing the trunk light, all of these will be the 45 tower bulbs,(BRIGHT!) I'll post some more pics. when I get 'ur done.

Re: More LED info

Nice.

I was thinking of just replacing the non-blinking or dimming lights on my car. That includes the dome, courtesy, console, marker, back-up, trunk, under hood, and license plate bulbs. I was trying to find some solution to the glove box bulb...

Anyway, I ended up choosing G4-WWHP18-TAC with the G4BP-BA15S base for the license plate. Did you just use an 1156 equivilant tower? And I'm not very worried about that bulb being bright! So, I was even concidering the HP15. ;-)

Are you going to use the 1156 equiv. tower bulbs in the trunk and hood lights? Are they too big for the trunk light reflector?

I do realize I could figure this all out myself. But why not ask someone that has gone through it already (or has at least had the LED "in hand")...

Re: More LED info

Sure ,yea I used 1156 18 tower in license plate, I'm using 2 under hood lights 1156 45 towers, works great ,lots of light. When I mounted the first one it only lit up half of the engine bay,so I'm using 2. Perfect now. I haven't got my trunk light harness yet,but I'm planning on using a 1156 45 tower in there too. It looks to me like it will fit. The one you chose looks just like the 18 tower 1156, that will work real good for your license plate. Lights up everything back there, even the ground. Looks cool.
