Where to get terminal ends? '69 Camaro

I want to replace some bad wires in the engine compartment. Rather than splicing like what is already there I would like to make a complete new run. That being said does anyone know where to buy the terminals that lock the wire into the bulk head connector at the fire wall?

One more question. I'm removing the factory resistance wire and want to know if all I have to do is remove the wire from the connector at the fire wall or is there anymore on the inside from the connector to the fuse box?

Thanks,
Larry

Thought I'd come back and let everyone know I found them local. Oreilly's has them BWD brand CT712 for male and CT710 for female. Napa also has them but for .99 a piece! I think it's a nice alternative to ordering on line and holding up a project.

Larry,

There aren't any Oreilly's in my area but we do have Napa. Do you recall the manufacturer of the ones at Napa. I looked online for Napa and don't see the BWD terminals and can't find anything equivalent.

Just another thought too, and I'm sure it's been done. But I noticed unused "slots" in the bulk head connector so I went ahead and picked up the female connectors. I used the female connectors to add clean places to pass through the fire wall and also run the new wires in the existing harness. I didn't like having stuff like the aftermarket MSD pick up going through some random spot in the firewall.

I didn't realize it was one of those terminals that goes into the fuse block. I've ordered them before for making a Y pigtail for the radio power. It is used in Packard connectors for radio, low fuel warning, etc. It is also used for the glove compartment light...

Re: Where to get terminal ends? '69 Camaro

Larry,

I was looking at the wiring on my car today and I see two open cavities in one of the plugs in the bulkhead on the firewall. How do you put the terminal into these two openings? How does it pass through the bulkhead connector and how do you connect to it from inside the car?

Re: Where to get terminal ends? '69 Camaro

Basically, there are "prongs" on the terminals that catch and hold them in the slots.

Re: Where to get terminal ends? '69 Camaro

Thanks cb. But how do you connect a wire from the inside of the car? What do you connect the wire to? I cannot see the back side of these terminals from the inside of the car. I only see fuses and wires.

I believe you have to take the front of the fuse box off. Behind that you will see the wires that connect through to the engine side. I recently did a console guage conversion and it used 2 open spots, plus a few changes. Not hard to do, but it isnt fun getting in there.

Correct, two screws hold the fuse box to the fire wall. After removing them the front unsnaps from the rear giving you access to the open slots. Terminate the wires you're adding and simply slide in. A small tang on the connector will lock it in place. Make sure it is oriented correctly so it doesn't push out when connected.

Re: Where to get terminal ends? '69 Camaro

Don't know if I should post this in a new thread or here. I will try here first.

I got some of these connectors but they are different than what are stock for my 67. Must use different terminals between 67 and 69. Here are a couple pictures of the ones on my car.

Anyone where where I can get these terminals?
