msd distributor

I am installing a msd magnetic pick up dist. in my 67 camaro. I got a new wire harness and it has the yellow and white wires tied together. the msd has the 6al control box and blaster coil. I think that I need to do away with the white resistence wire so I get the full 12 volts. any help or tips would be much appreciated thanks.

Re: msd distributor

Supply the MSD box small red wire (control power, not the larger red one for the battery) via the spade connector marked IGN on your fuse block inside the car. Tape up or safety the ends of the other wires as they will not be used.

Re: msd distributor

Your coil connects to the 6AL box.

Re: msd distributor

The orange and black wires coming out of the box go to the coil. The white wire does not get used.Bundle it up and tape off the exposed end so it can't contact any thing. The purple and green wires going into the plug together plug into the plug on the distributor.Heavy red wire goes to the positive side of the battery. The small red wire goes to an ignition hot.The heavy black wire goes a good ground.Your existing brown tack wire will connect to the tach out put port on the box.Good luck!
