Resistance Wire/Ballast

Hi, I have a 69 Camaro with a Mallory Unilite distributor. Currently I have a resistance wire going to coil from ignition. It's in really poor shape and having trouble starting car. I'm going to put in a ballast resistor recommended by Mallory. So my question is does the current resistance wire just run back to the electric bulkhead on the firewall or does it run all the way back to the ignition switch. Just trying to figure out what section of wire I need to replace. From the coil back to firewall or coil back to ignition switch. Thanks!

Re: Resistance Wire/Ballast

It stops at the connector block on the firewall under the master cylinder.
