Help with engine swap

My nephew has an 82 camaro that had a 2.5L 4cyl. He pulled the 2.5 out and put in a 4.3L v6 from an 85 El Camino.

The motor is in the car. He asked me to help him wire the computer, he has the computer and harness.

I have reviewed several shop manuals and wiring diagrams that I found online.

The problem I have is that the ECM power harnesses for the car and the new computer are not wired the same. I have seen this conn referred as C207.

I believe I know the function of each wire on the 4.3L computer harness. I also believe the car has all the connections that I will need however the pinouts are not the same.

What I really need is the make, model specific pinouts of the ECM power conn C207 for 85 el camino 4.3 tbi. and 82 camaro 2.5L tbi.

Can anyone provide these prints?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

Re: Help with engine swap

I believe you would need to transfer the ECU engine harness from the '85 into the '82.
L4 TBI is a singular injector, V6 TBI has two injectors - two outputs from the ECU.

Re: Help with engine swap

I agree, I have the 85 ECM harness and plan on swapping it into the Camaro.

Thats where the problem is. The ECM harness has 3 plugs on the Interior side. 2 plug into the computer, 1 plugs into the car. This 1 conn is the C207 that I referred to in the original post. I need the pinout of the Car connector

1982 Camaro, 2.5L tbi. any idea where I can get this?

Re: Help with engine swap

I would start with a Haynes manual.

Re: Help with engine swap

I have both the Haynes and Chiltons manuals and have identified some of the wires functions in C207 but not all of them.

Re: Help with engine swap

You might try the Library in the Reference Section for Mitchell repair manuals.
Or, a shop with Mitchell repair CD and ask for a copy of each year.
