Clock lighting

My clock background lighting does not work. I tried to take it apart but stopped in fear of breaking something once I could not locate a bulb. Is there an easy way to replace the lighting on the clock? May be a simple question but I read the service manual and it says to remove instrument cluster. I'd rather not if at all possible. Thx.

Re: Clock lighting

You didn't say what year your Camaro is, so I'm going to assume it's a '69 - 'cos they're the best.
Only kidding!
(or am I?)
Anyway, if your car's NOT a '69, then sorry, can't help; but if it is, the bulb is located over the clock assembly as shown in the extract of the AIM below:

1969 04A Van Nuys-built Z/28. Cortez Silver with dark blue interior and VE3. Sold Clippinger Chevrolet. Raced at Lions in LA.

Re: Clock lighting

Yes 69. OK that diagram helps. I still kinda wonder how to get to it. I can see the shield but can't remove it to get to the bulb.
