Weird RS Elec. Problem

I was leaving for school the other night. I pulled my headlight switch "on" as usual, the RS headlight doors opened. But the headlights were not on, they stayed off.

Long story short about trouble shooting:

I found out (eventually) everything works just fine & normal while the high beam dimmer switch is on “low beam.” The RS doors open & the headlights come on.

It gets weird with the dimmer switch pushed into the “high beam” position:

The RS doors open, but the headlights DON’T come on. Then, when I push the headlight switch (on the dash) back down to shut the doors & turn off the lights, the doors DON’T CLOSE.

Yes, I replaced the dimmer switch on the floorboard & the headlight switch on the dashboard, but the song remains the same.

What else can I check out, or do, to determine what’s causing of this problem.

My RS headlight system has been working just fine for the last 8 or 9 years. My car is a semi-daily driver.

Any suggestion would be welcome.

electric 67 or vacuum 68-69? check the grounds on the headlight switch, headlights and the dimmer switch.
