68 anyone know what this is?

I failed to tag this when I was tearing stuff down, not sure what it is for now. It has a grommet into the firewall and two connectors inside as in photos. Putting things back together now and it has yet to become obvious what this is for. Any help would be appreciated

Looks like it's for the power top switch. Do you have a convertible?

It is a convertible... OK this makes sense then, I've not dug into the top wiring yet. I'll have to look at the schematics for that and trace it out.

Re: 68 anyone know what this is?

The one end with the tape/adhesive residue was spared off in my car. It was just taped back to itself. The other orange with black tracer will plug into another connector under the dash with a red wire coming out the other side. This red wire is the feed for the power top switch. The other end of the orange with black wire will run through the rubber grommet to a breaker mounted on the engine side of the firewall. This breaker will be located above the master cylinder and just to the driver's side.

OK thanks so much, this is great info, already found the red wire and determined that the breaker is missing since broken part of it is still on the firewall side. Should be able to sort this out now!
