67 power windows

Need some help with power windows. My driver side window went down and now wont go back up. When I try to bring it back up the relay buzzes but the window wont move. Ive replaced the relay but makes no difference. But the relay gets hot and the interior light dims when you hit the button. Ive also changed the 4 switch master control and same thing. Even the switch it self gets hot. Could it be the motor it self thats stuffed? If so, is it difficult to remove the motor to test it, and how do you go about removing it.

Thanks for any info.
Cheers

Either the lift motor/mechanism needs attention or something went arwy with the window guides.

Yes you have to take it apart and determine what is binding.

Re: 67 power windows

Door panel comes off with all it's attendant parts that you see before you.

The motor mechanism is held in place with 3 bolts and one electrical connection.

Check the motor (reversing polarity for up/down) operation, then check the window's freedom of movement within it's guides.

Be VERY careful taking the motor off the regulator, it is spring loaded, to
counterbalance the glass, clamp in a vice, bolt together, or C clamp. They will remove fingers.

Yeah, I'll take that on board
Actually I think its a wiring issue rather than the motor because I disconnected the plug to the motor and tested the switch operationwith a test light on it and I'm getting power with the circuit in down position but when I Try to put window up I get a very dim light and relay starts to heat up with a buzzing noise. So I'll check wiring first.
