starter ?

i bought a used mini starter with a tilton head.
i can only see two bolts to remove to change the head position.
i removed the 2 and the head would not move. i tapped it with a piece of wood and it still wouldn't move.
after looking at it closer it looks like you have to disassemble the starter and remove a hidden third bolt
anyone have experience with this type starter
thanks

Re: starter ?

You can usually go to any company's website and download instructions for their product. Did you try that?

i have no idea as to the brand. the guy i got it from had it rebuilt years ago for his 468 mud truck. there was no stickers or name on the starter.
i took it back because it wouldn't engage properly

Re: starter ?

on these you have to use starter shims to make sure you have proper engagement.
