i know one leg of the gauge comes off of the horn relay, but can the other leg come off the large terminal (+) on the starter?

Re: Amp gauge ?

Battery junction block, by OE design.
But, it can go to the solenoid stud and the gauge will show a 'deeper' reading.

The OE ammeter indicates the polarity, shown as charge/discharge, of the voltage the wire dissipates as heat, needle points further away from 0 indicates more voltage dissipated, on the length of #10GA wire between the HR buss bar and battery junction block.

By connecting to the solenoid, the calibration is out the window as extra length of wire has been added from the battery junction block through the cable pigtail and the length of positive cable.
