American autowire 50661

OK I'm getting started with this kit on my 67. For 67s you need trim the firewall hole for the fuse block according to the instructions. I have the template but need to know do you use the template on the interior side of the firewall or the engine compartment side? The engine comp side makes more sense to me but want to be sure.

Scratch that just seen on the template its the firewall side. Sorry for the post!
