Power supply for DSE wiper motor

Just wiring up my DSE wiper motor on my 67 and trying to figure out where to connect the switched power supply wire. It comes with a 30 amp in line fuse on a 12 GA. wire and it needs to be connected to a switched power supply. DSE says it needs to be 30 Amp. Is 12 GA.wire to small for a 30 amp fuse? And where would be a good source for a 30 amp switched supply Thanks.

Re: Power supply for DSE wiper motor

So you can't run it to your existing wiper wires? I have a Painless fuse block and have no idea what's available on a stock fuse block.

Re: Power supply for DSE wiper motor

Something seems odd-12 gauge wire is only good for 20 amps, so with a 30a fuse, you'll fry the wiring before you pop the fuse if it really draws 30 amps. Sure it's not a 10 gauge wire?

Re: Power supply for DSE wiper motor

Its defiantly 12 GA. they even call it that in the instructions. I asked DSE about using a 20 or 25 amp keyed power and they said to use 30. The original wiper fuse is a 20 and the heater fuse is a 25, I could try one of those. I have Vintage Air and don't need those spots and that would be sized better for the 12 GA wire.
