Help with electric fuel pump - where do get signal???

Where should I get the signal from to run my electric fuel pump? I am running a Holley F.P. to a Carb. I plan to run a relay but where do I get the signal to turn the pump on from? I read a few post that said to run it from an oil pressure switch? Is that the best way to do it? I guess I assumed you would just grab a key on power source and use that to run the pump. Is that not a good idea? Any help would be great. Don't assume I know anything cause . . . =) lol

Thanks, Arkangel77

If I may ask?

Why electric pump?

If so you do not need a relay. I would run it off key switch

Re: Help with electric fuel pump - where do get signal???

I am going with an electric pump cause I am building a High performance motor/set up that will require more fuel than the stock system can provide. I am glad to here that a Key on source will work. Any advice as to what wire is best from the stock harness to tap onto? Thanks, Arkangel77

Here are the directions from Summit racing fuel pump relay kit. http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS+Performan...10564/10002/-1 Click on instructions. If it is too small to read click on the printer icon when the menu pop up appears at the bottom of the page.

Ok so you'll be over 600 hp. Pull power from the main terminal on the core support or the horn relay buss fused with and in line 30 amp fuse to a relay triggered by 12v ign from the key switch
