Re: 67 RS/SS Hide a way ?
More than likely you have corrosion on one or more of the wire contacts or ground wires. Check the limit switch ground points on the radiator support for either corrosion or possible paint over spray if any painting was done recently. Clean the limit switch ground wire eyelet add dab of electrical grease to protect metal from elements after cleaning.(clean to bare metal using sand paper and reassemble using "star" washers)
Clean the electrical connectors of the limit switches and use electrical grease on them aswell.
Look for any cuts in the wires from the limit switches to the relays under the drivers fender.
remove the relay circuit board carefully from under the drivers fender so as not to pull/yank wires off any of the terminals. Look and see if all wires are attached or if any have come lose? if all looks good than inspect wires and electrical contacts for possible corrosion or signs of electrical damage. Great time to clean up contacts and add electrical grease in any case as a preventative measure.
Lastly it may be the light switch itself. The originals are prone to failure pull and see if burnt or if any wire has detached or has corrosion.
