What are the wire colors for the high and low beam?

Hi, I am installing relays for my headlights. Before I cut anything I want to make sure I am cutting the correct wire.

I am using the relay kit from MAD and I have a 1969 SS. Thanks!

Low beam is tan

High beam is light green

You can buy a relay harness that just plugs in to your existing h/l harness - no cutting required. EXAMPLE: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CERAMIC-H4-7...e25827&vxp=mtr

x2 on the ceramic socket relay harness, plug and play and 100% reversible.

If you have already bought and want to use the MAD relays you can, just replace the relays the harness comes with.

Or make your own harness and insert your MAD relays. Several members have posted their own home made ones. The materials are readily available on-line or at most big box auto parts stores. Some of the plans use two leads and two fuses - one for each light, others use one to power both. Either is a simple one night project IMHO for the DIYer.

But really when you add in the time and materials, the price is just about the same as making one yourself unless you don't value your time.

Thank you for the tip on the wiring harness - I didn't know those existed! I will look into that.
