I did shaved and power windows on my 55 Belair - Never Again.

Solenoids are fairly easy and you'll need to plan on how to do the wire loom into the doors.

I bought some poppers but never used them and the weatherstrip pushed them out enough to open.

Anyway make sure you have a back up entry plan if the battery is dead.

This is the best set up IMHO

Well I relocated my battery to the trunk and I am going manual windows and trunk as well, the guys at the nearest alarm shop recommend to go to a custom to have the poppers install and they have to be aligned I tried looking it up online but no luck, and I was questioning having an extra switch for when my battery dies, thanks.
