67 Console Guages Wiring Ground Strap

Hi, I'm installing a new harness on my console guages. Where does the ground strap attach? My book says on the tunnel drivers side. I do not see a hole to attach it. My car has its original tunnel and was equipped with console guages. Could the ground strap have been connected somewhere else.

Thanks

Re: 67 Console Guages Wiring Ground Strap

I am not near my car at the moment but think I remember a black wire from the harness with a star ring crimped on it and that is secured either to the front console mount or tunnel with a screw. If you don't get a better reply by this evening, I'll be happy to check my car when I get home from work.

Dale,

If you're referring to the ground wire that is part of the console harness, see picture below. The ground screw is attached just to the right of the shifter (red arrow).

This picture is from a '68 but I would suspect it is the same on a '67.

Thanks, mine a 4 speed, I only have the 4 holes for the boot on top of the hump. I probably can secure it anywhere, just figured I may as well put it where it belongs.

Re: 67 Console Guages Wiring Ground Strap

I checked my car and it is not how I described it above. My car was originally an automatic with console and gauges and is a first week of Jan 67 build. The grounding wire from the harness is attached to the underdash support on the right side of the radio.
