Original style wiring connectors and terminals

I'm wanting to replace some of my wiring on my 67 camaro. Some of the wires have been spliced and extended. The harnesses are still good, so no need to replace them. The alternator wires have been spliced twice, so I'm wanting to replace them from the plug to the alternator. Do you guys know where I can purchase the correct parts to do this? Thanks

Bill

I usually buy used original wire harnesses and splice with the correct wire colors or gauge. Try Ebay or Craigslist

American Auto Wire's Factory Fit product line is a great reproduction of the original factory harnesses including connectors and comes guaranteed and with a great support and customer service team - just a phone call away.

Re: Original style wiring connectors and terminals

Not entirely clear if you're looking for a new harness (in which case I very much agree with Brian above) or are planning to open up your current harness to replace that specific run and need a good source for wire and connectors. If it's the latter, www.wirebarn.com is a good source for shorter lengths of GXL wire, which is the only type I would use for engine compartment wiring given a choice (I actually use it throughout although it's probably overkill in the interior). For connectors, if you own a set of crimpers for the Delphi/Packard 56 connectors, you can get small numbers of connectors at exorbitant cost from American Autowire or larger numbers (min 50 I think?) from waytek wire. If you don't own those specific crimpers already, a decent set of noninsulated brazed terminals, crimped and soldered, with shrink wrap for strain relief, are probably ok.

Here's a recent thread discussing factory style terminals/connectors.

The AAW Factory Fit product line includes all sub harnesses as well a the full body harness so if you only want the charging system, you only order the charging loop. Pick what you needs from the on-line catalog. http://www.americanautowire.com/shop...ARO&action=add

Re: Original style wiring connectors and terminals

Thanks for all the replies guys. I Will check out all the sites that you all have given me. I'm only wanting to replace a few wires in the harness. The alternator wires have been spliced three times from the plug to the alternator. Just looking to repair not to replace the complete harness.
