Re: 67 rs electrics faulty

Double check all your grounds and the snug fit of both the headlight switch and the foot dinner. DO the RS electric doors open for parking lights?

Re: 67 rs electrics faulty

Headlamp switch has the button/knob in the wrong place internally.
Or, parking light power lead from switch is swapped with dome light power lead.

Re: 67 rs electrics faulty

What changes have you made since the last time it was OK? If that's the entire harness, what brand/type of harness did you use?

Re: 67 rs electrics faulty

With headlamp sw unplugged, pull fuse.
If lights go out, fuse panel wired wrong, I suspect.

First, welcome to the forum. I see this is your first topic you've posted about. We don't charge by the word so feel free to add more detail to your explanation and I'm sure we can help you get to the bottom of it.

Do you have the harness fully or just partially connected?
Sounds like you may have something connected to ground that should not be.

Re: 67 rs electrics faulty

Pulled fuse, lights went out. Could it be possible it's the emergency flashers? I have no flasher plugged in yet, and just checked, the switch won't move in or out. Thanks.

Re: 67 rs electrics faulty

No, because you said parking lights came on, not the turn signal filaments - two different circuits.
Emergency switch is hard to pull out for ON.
If pulled ON, lights won't light because light power goes through the flasher.
Fuse panel wired wrong.

Re: 67 rs electrics faulty

By unplugging the connector, the turn signal filaments have no power
Parking lights are brown wire to the sockets, comes from headlamp switch, or should.
These two diagrams should help.

Re: 67 rs electrics faulty

Thankyou Everett, it was the brake and turn signal filaments staying on. What do you suspect, steering column wiring or cam switch?

Re: 67 rs electrics faulty

If turns are on, then I would suggest two problems:
1. With no emerg flasher fuse panel wired wrong
2. Emerg switch stuck on.
Only way for turns to get power if ign key is not on.
