Ignition coil

I have something mounted to the side of my coil (standard coil, points system). I do not know what's the purpose, it is not connected to anything, looks like it might hook to the coil positive.
Is it a capacitor that should be hooked up, or a noise surpressor?
Thanks
Barry

Re: Ignition coil

If it looks like a condensor, and is actually mounted to the coil mount bracket, then it's probably the noise suppressor, refer to the AIM, or post pictures for verification. Hope this helps.

Re: Ignition coil

Its most likely the condenser for the radio. It does not affect performance at all just for radio noise.

Re: Ignition coil

X2 Yes, it's the condenser to help eliminate noise in radio.

Re: Ignition coil

So, just attach it back up to the positive side of coil, correct?
