starter hookup

On the harness going to the starter, is there a designated positive side, negative side?? I have a yellow which looks like it comes from the coil and a purple. I'm thinking the yellow goes to the outside connection of the starter, (toward wheel)..that what it looks like from the wiring diagram
any help
Barry

Re: starter hookup

You have it correct -

The purple goes to solenoid terminal labeled "S" - closest to the block.

The yellow goes to the terminal labeled "R" - closest to the fender.
