Original style battery cables on a 67

I'm wanting to replace my battery cables on my 67 with the original ring style cables. Has anyone had any trouble with the ring style and the newer top post batteries that we have today? Do the cables fit tight enough? Thanks

You shouldn't have any problem with them being tight enough. In fact one of mine seems a little too tight but they work great. I got my cables from Ricks about 4 years ago.

They are made of lead so you can carefully manipulate them together or apart for proper fit.

Re: Original style battery cables on a 67

I put in a new battery, a battery topper, and new cables on my 68 Nova about 2 years ago and have had them on and off a few times with no issues. Mine are from Classic Industries and the instruction have "Factory Fit Automotive Wiring" on the sheet.

I've read that you just want to pinch them open enough to get them onto the posts and if they get opened too far, sometimes they do not have as much tension. I normally use a set of vise grips set so I cannot over expand them open.

I try and get the top of the cable ends even with the top of the posts.
