Voltmeter pegging out?

I'm essentially done with an AAW Classic Update on a 69 Z28. I've converted the ammeter to a voltmeter. When I start the car, the voltmeter pegs out all the way to the right and doesn't come back within the normal range. When I measure voltage at the back of the gauge, it measures ~12V. Bad gauge (its brand new) or do I have something wired wrong? Any help would be great - pretty tired of jacking around with this thing. thanks.

Re: Voltmeter pegging out?

Mike recently posted an issue here with an AAW voltmeter that also was a recent purchase and it turned out to be defective. There maybe a bad batch of them.

Re: Voltmeter pegging out?

If you find the gauge is bad, you may get a replacement.
If not, you can take a 0-25K potentiometer 1/2 watt, and looking at the screwdriver slot, center terminal to meter, left terminal wire from harness, and adjust the pot in calibrating the meter.
