1969 Camaro Big Block starter issues

Do not have trouble starting car when cold but after warmed up, starter does not seem to engage. When I let car cool down, it starts fine. Thoughts?

Sounds like you have headers. Either make a heat shield for the starter or get some header wrap or starter wrap. http://www.chevyhardcore.com/news/ne...tarter-shield/

If you don't have a hi-torque mini starter you might want to invest in one. Another thing check your initial timing to see if it is to high. Most of the time just back of 2 degrees.

Make sure your battery is big enough and in good shape for the application first!

As well as battery cables (min 1 AWG) are in good condition - no clamp-on clamps - and their connection points are clean/wire brushed, and alternator is charging the battery fully.

As mentioned above. Make sure Batt is fully charged and in good working order. Check all wire connections. Where is your ground ?? On top of alt bracket ?? Make sure the ground is making good contact. Ground connection to pass fender ?? What is your timing set at ??
