I was trying to work on my heater motor-couldn't even get to it- and when I was done after messing with some wires in the dash, I discovered one of those weird grounding problems. If I turn on the lights or blinkers or emergency flashers, the temp gauge(console) goes up to hot- all the way if the lights are fully on. But this only happens with the key off. If the ignition is on or the motor running, the temp gauge is fine-working. With the motor running if I turn the lights, blinkers etc. on, I can't notice any movement in the temp gauge. With temp gauge disconnected the lights and blinkers work fine. I think it's some sort of grounding problem, but I can't figure out where.
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks,
John
