can anyone tell me step by step how to remove the ignition switch from the dash of a 1968 camaro thanks

It isn't too bad. Put the key in the ignition and turn it counter clockwise to the ACC postition. Then take a paper clip that has been straightened out and insert it in the little hole to the lowe left of the key. You should feel some resistence. While hoding in on the spring with the paperclip pull the whole assembly out towards you. Then the round bezel should unscrew and there you go! Hope that helps!!

While holding in on the spring you have to turn the cylinder to the left past the accessory position and then remove the cylinder by pulling on the key. It should come right out without any tugging or prying! Then you can remove the bezel nut and the ignition switch from the dash.
