I'm going to be installing an MSD Pro Billet distributor and MSD 6AL box in my car.

When I took the car apart, I dont remember a ballast resistor, but its been almost a year since I took the electrical system out (its all in a box, but I dont want to search through it right now).

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you only use a ballast resistor with a points type of distributor ???

Do I need one for the MSD set-up ???

The MSD does not need a ballast resistor.

ZZ is correct. I use the MSD distributor and 6AL with the stock wiring harnesss (with resistance wire).

Thanks guys. I'm going to be re-wiring the car with a Factory Fit 18 circuit system (i.e not an original harness). Is the resistance wire usually part of those types or kits ??
