I installed a new alternator on my 69 camaro, it as a new external regulator, I do do not think it is charging my new Diehard battery. I bought a digiatal volt meter but I do not know how to use it. Please help me with some instuction on how to test my system.

Thanks, Coolcars

Hook a volt meter to the batery. With the engine off the meter should read very close to 12 volts. With the engine running and the alternator charging the meter should read just under 14 volts. You may have to rev the engine above idle a little to get the voltage up.
