i installed 3 gauges and a tach in my 69 a while back. i'm just now getting around to hooking up the lighting, so i'm just wondering where a good hookup point in the interior would be. i could go searching under the dash, but i figured you guys could give me some good info.

just go right to the fuse panel. the dash light fuse (the short one in the lower left corner i believe) has a spade right next to it. just run the wire to there and pick up the nearest ground, an voila! your gauges will even dim correctly. you can check it with a test light to be sure your on the right spade, but i'm pretty sure, without going out and looking, thats were you'll find it. hope that helps

I've seen people use splice into the heater unit light as well. Your gauges will dim and brighten witht the rest of the dash as well.
