I have a 68 camaro with new painless wiring
and when I pull my headlight switch halfway
my park lights come on but when I pull it all the way my headlights come but my parklights go off are they supposed to do this.

The parking lights should stay on. Could you be missing a jumper on the headlight switch? Sometimes headlight switches with multiple terminals may have jumpers from one term to another. A good wiring diagram would tell you for sure.

I have read before that this is normal. On my 67 this happens too but I have an RS. I think that they are the same.
