I have a mini tach with 4 wires. I know what the red and black are for, but there is a green and tan. None of these are for a light as there is no light. Does anyone know which lead goes to the coil. I hate to burn it out. There isn't any brand name on it.
I know it has to be either the green or tan, question is....which one? Thanks!

The tan one on my 67 goes to the coil. The car has original guages and tach, so I am not sure if this helps. Not sure what the green would be for.

On all the aftermarket tachs that I have hooked up, the green goes to the negative terminal of the coil. The red and black are obvious and the tan goes to a light power source. Are you sure that it has no light?

I just hooked up a suntune mini tack in my parts truck 84 s-10 red wire to fuse box on w/key, black to ground duh, green to coil, and blue to fuse box on w/light switch. If you can get the cover off look where the green and tan wires are soldered it probable has a small internal light bulb good luck finding a replacement bulb.
