I have been putting together a 69 that came in boxs. I have a new Covan dash in it, but how in the world do I get the headlight swicth in. The hole on the dash that the switch maounts in is dircetly above the metal dash support brackets behind the dash. How do you get the switch in, then try to wrestle that damn push button to grab the stem?

I am lost.

I assume that you are installing the switch with the dash bezel out? If not, you should take it back out. The headlight switch mounts from inside the dash and has a "nut" that has a hole in it that threads on from the face (outside) of the dash. Perhaps you can do it with the dash in. I, on the other hand, like to do things the easy way and had it installed while the dash was still on my lap.
