Ive got a '69 camaro rs/ss, Ive just put the engine back in after a rebuild, replaced some cracked and poor wires. Somehow, some-way, i can't seem to get 14 volts. Ive also mounted a Ford starter solenoid due to heat on the firewall. Its got a MDS ignition now, and ive wired it just like it was before the engine was pulled. Is it the Voltage regulator? I have confirmed that the alternator does work on another system. Do newer alternators have internal regulators? If I put a New alternator in, is the voltage regulator obsolete?
Any sort of input on some of these questions is GREATLY appreciated.
